It's not official and no formal application has been submitted with the city, but a developer is looking at building a five-storey, 22-unit apartment complex in The Ward.

I.T. Enterprises is proposing the building be built at 66 Duke St., just south of Elizabeth Road east of Downtown Guelph.

The developer wants to hear the neighbourhood's input on the proposal and is holding an open house at the Italian Canadian Club on Wednesday, Nov. 14, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Inam Carere, whose name and phone number were on the notice handed out to neighbours of the property, said in an email that "it appears there is a lot of interest in this upcoming development," but did not offer further comment.

The address is currently home to a one-storey commercial building.
