Two men who allegedly attempted to rob four residents of a Guelph apartment Sunday morning appear to have knocked on the wrong door.
Guelph Police say two young men entered an apartment at 316 Kathleen St. at approximately 5 a.m. Sunday brandishing weapons and demanded cash and cell phones from the apartment's four occupants.
Sgt. Jason Guardiero said two of the occupants engaged the would-be robbers in a "physical confrontation."
The two men were taken into custody by police who arrived shortly after they were called and both men ended up being taken to hospital: one was treated and released to police custody, the other remains in hospital in stable condition, Guardiero said Sunday afternoon.
The two men will remain in custody pending a bail hearing on Tuesday, Guardiero said.
They face a slew of charges, including attempted robbery.
"The investigation is still in its infancy stage at this point," Guardiero said.
He did not say what weapons were used in the incident by the two men arrested.
