Average price of homes sold in October up over $100K from last year: CREA

Almost exactly the same number of residential units were sold this October as last October

The Guelph and District Association of Realtors reports that home sales are down slightly from September, but still set a new record for the month of October.

There were a total of 492 residential unit sales in the month of October 2020. This marks a decrease of 27 home sales from Septembe and a jump of 5 per cent from last October.

The Canadian Real Estate Association says new listings in October remained near record-high levels.

In October 2020:

  • 492 residential units were sold
  • $741,746 was the average price of homes sold
  • 523 new residential listings were posted

In September 2020:

  • 519 residential units were sold
  • $757,424 was the average price of homes sold
  • 628 new residential listings were posted

To compare, in October 2019:

  •  493 residential units were sold
  •  $612,682 was the average price of homes sold
  •  477 new residential listings were posted
