Body of missing U of G student found near his York Region home

HOLLAND LANDING - The body of first year University of Guelph student Andrew Bishop was found near his home in Holland Landing, just north of Newmarket.

Bishop, 21, was found by cyclists in a wooded area at roughly 3 p.m. on May 4, said York Regional Police.

A post mortem was to be conducted to determine the cause of death.

Bishop was last seen on April 30 at approximately 11 p.m., at his residence in the area of Yonge Street and Thompson Drive.

He had just concluded his first year at the U of G and was preparing to start a summer job with his father's company.
