GenreCon returns to Guelph this weekend with some special guests.

The annual event that celebrates all kinds of “nerdy fun,” according to a press release, will kick off Friday, Feb. 9, with an interactive night with two stars from the Buffy The Vampire Slayer television show.

Nicholas Brendon, who played ‘Xander,’ and Charisma Carpenter, who played Cordelia Chase, will be appearing at The Round Table on Essex Street starting at 8 p.m.

This is a special ticketed event, says a press release, with the rest of GenreCon taking place at the Holiday Inn and Conference Centre on Scottsdale Drive Saturday and Sunday.

“GenreCon will welcome all fans with 65 unique vendors, panels running throughout the weekend on all your favourite topics, gaming competitions, and more special events taking place on Saturday Night,” said the release.

GenreCon will also feature special appearances from Sean Ward of The Sean Ward Show, the number one most watched cosplay channel on YouTube, as well as the Dredd inspired Joint Sector Task Force, the Ontario Ghostbusters, the Comic Corps of Canada, and members of the Rebel Legion.
