A Toronto-based consulting firm for the food safety, food quality and cannabis industries is opening a new Guelph location in the near future.

Dicentra was attracted to opening a new location in Guelph because of the city’s reputation as a food hub and because of the existing talent base located here, said Peter Wojewnik, vice-president of business development and client care.

“We are very excited to be pursuing our third office location in Guelph, Ontario,”, said Wojewnik. “This is home to many of our close clients and a country hub for the food, life sciences and cannabis industries — all industries we are heavily involved in.”

The company specializes in food safety and quality consulting, life sciences consulting, global certifications and cannabis consulting.

The company is in the process of finding an office suitable for its needs, said Wojewnik.

Dicentra currently has two employees in Guelph who work from home who will move into the new office, said Wojewnik. The company will also be looking to hire a yet-to-be determined amount of employees to work with them in the future Guelph location.
