NEWS RELEASE
ZONTA CLUB OF GUELPH
***************************
The Zonta Club of Guelph is excited to announce this very special Mother's Day weekend virtual event: LunaFest 2021 films by and about women.

LunaFest is an event that connects women, their stories, and their causes through film. This season's program of seven selected short films (86 minutes total) will compel discussion, make you laugh, tug at your heartstrings, and motivate you to make a difference in your community. Incredibly diverse in style and content, LunaFest is united by a common thread of exceptional storytelling – by and about women.

We can't gather this Mother's Day in person, so we invite you to join us virtually for some fun and entertainment. Invite the women in your life (and don't forget to include their significant others), grab your favourite beverage and snacks, then follow us on Facebook for event updates plus FaceBook Live movie reviews and commentaries happening on Sunday, May 9.

Your ticket will give you access to start streaming the event between 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 8 to 9 a.m. on Monday, May 10, 2021.

Once you start watching, you have 24 hours to view the films. You may skip ahead, go back or watch as many times as you like during that period, all from the comfort of your couch!

*Films are appropriate for audiences age 16 and over.

The ticket price for the event is $15 for regular tickets and $10 for income accessible tickets (e.g. student/fixed income) and can be purchased online.

Proceeds from this event will go to the Zonta Club of Guelph to help fund various local projects geared explicitly towards women and girls' empowerment. A portion of the proceeds will go to Chicken and Egg Pictures, a foundation supporting women nonfiction filmmakers whose artful and innovative storytelling catalyzes social change.

Luna with the Zonta Club of Guelph are committed to inspiring women and advocating for change because equality can't wait for someday. Someday is now.
