The City of Guelph has awarded the contract for general contracting services for the renovation of the Guelph Police Service headquarter, located at 15 Wyndham Street, to Jasper Construction Corp. of Concord, Ontario.

Six tenders were submitted; Jasper Construction Corp.’s proposal was submitted in the amount of $25,890,000 exclusive of HST.

Funding for this project is part of the Council approved $34,000,000 capital budget.

“We are ready to proceed with the construction of the new Guelph Police Service headquarters in partnership with the City of Guelph,” says Police Chief Jeff DeRuyter. “We are pleased to be on budget and remain committed to the completion of a successful project that meets the needs of our community and our members.”

“The City looks forward to working with Guelph Police Service and Jasper Construction Corp. on this important project,” says Scott Stewart, Deputy CAO of Infrastructure, Development and Enterprise Services. “Our strong relationship with our project partners will help ensure we stay on time and on budget.”

It is estimated that construction will begin in the next 6-8 weeks.
