The City of Guelph has announced who will be sharing $282,200 between 48 local not-for-profit organizations through the annual Wellbeing Grant Program.
Topping the list were several festivals, led by a $14,000 grant to the GUelph Jazz Festival, $13,000 to the Guelph Contemporary Dance Festival, $11,000 to Hillside and $10,000 to the Guelph and District Multicultural Festival.
Ed Video received $13,000 towards its programming.
There were a total of 73 applications asking for $732,000 this year, the city said.
An eight person panel of citizens with backgrounds in community benefit organizations, awarded $124,200 to 20 human and social services applicants; $121,000 to 21 arts and culture applicants; $13,500 to three recreation and sport applicants; and $23,500 to four other (community, environment or health) applicants.
The maximum funding allocation per applicant is $15,000.
