Phil Meagher is out as general manager of Guelph Transit.

In a brief notice posted on the City of Guelph web site, the city said it has "parted ways" with Meagher, who has been manager of Guelph Transit for just over three years.

"The City of Guelph has parted ways with Phil Meagher, general manager of Guelph Transit.
We thank Phil for his contributions and wish him well in his future endeavours.

An interim manager has been appointed. Work associated with upholding the day-to-day operation of Guelph Transit is uninterrupted. The City will ensure a smooth transition and continue to deliver the service our community expects."

The release did not name who the interim general manager was.

The city has a policy of not revealing if a person was fired, quit or a mutual agreement was reached.

Meagher had a long career in transit of over 30 years. Prior to coming to Guelph in August 2013 he was Manager of Transit for the Niagara Parks Commisssion.

He replaced Michael Anders when he arrived in Guelph.
