A 23-year-old Elora man is dead following a collision just north of Waterloo on Thursday.
Waterloo Regional Police report that at around 4:46 p.m. along Northfield Drive East near Line 86 in the Township of Woolwich a motor vehicle crossed into the opposing lane of traffic and was struck by a dump truck.
A 23-year-old Elora male was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the dump truck was taken to hospital and released with minor injuries. Speed of the deceased man's vehicle is believed to have been a contributing factor in the collision, police said.
Drug and alcohol use are not considered to be a factor at this point in the investigation, which is ongoing.
