Demonstrations are scheduled at 15 Tim Hortons locations across the province today, including one in Guelph, as protesters demand the corporation maintain employee wages, benefits and hours. Action will take place at the Tim Hortons located at 212 Victoria Rd. S. at 5 p.m.

The protests are in response to reports of a number of Tim Hortons locations reducing or eliminating employee perks, including paid breaks, health benefits, and uniform allowances. These employer measures were taken after Ontario’s minimum wage was increased to $14 an hour on January 1.

Demonstrations in Ottawa, Toronto, London, Dundas, Cobourg, Peterborough and Windsor are also expected to take place.
