An adult water fight planned for Sunday afternoon in Guelph didn't come off as well as planned.

By 1:30 p,m. only four people had shown up looking to get wet at the event, scheduled for 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at York Road Park.

Roughly 20 people had said they would be attending with another 40 or so "maybes" on the event's Facebook page.

It was supposed to be an adults-only event aimed at having some fun, relieving some stress and cooling off.

Four news outlets showed up to cover it.

Carmela van de Geyn, who organized the event through the Guelph This & That Facebook page, said she would try again next year.
