Guelph Dance is still looking for 12 young dancers, aged 12-14 to participate in a dance project. Auditions are Sunday April 8, 2018 so those interested are asked to contact Leslie Fisher at [email protected] as soon as possible.

BoucharDanse’s La gigue en souvenir will be presented by the Guelph Dance Festival on June 1st, 2nd and 3rd 2018, and we are looking for 12 young dancers (age 12 to 14) to participate, dancing alongside the professional dancers, in a section created specifically for them.

To participate in this exciting project you have to audition, and in order to audition you must:

  • Be between 12 and 14 years old
  • Have dance training

La gigue en souvenir makes the past come alive through a journey inspired by the energy, the complexity and the vigour of the traditional dance from Québec. Performed on the music of Les Charbonniers de l’enfer, this work reinvents the folk tradition of the “gigue” in a contemporary fashion. La gigue en souvenir becomes a bridge between past and present and an ode to this most expressive of heritage.

For any questions/rehearsal schedule or to sign up for the audition please email [email protected].
