The National Service Dog's Annual Easter Egg Hunt is back. You and your canine can search for eggs all over Centennial Park on Good Friday.

Registration ahead of the event is $25 and $30 on the day of. Registration starts at 10 a.m. and the hunt begins at 11 a.m. on April 15.

The event was first started in 1998 in Oakville and has since become the largest and most anticipated event NSD holds.

In previous years hundreds of dogs are on the hunt for eggs.

Rules for the hunt are dogs need to be on leash at all times. Participants receive an egg carton and once it is full it should be brought back to the start area. The more donations given the more egg cartons participants will receive to collect eggs. In the eggs there are dog treats and stickers to redeem prizes.

Other cities hosting egg hunts on April 15 include London and Kitchener.

For COVID protocols those at the event are required to wear a mask and to stay six feet apart from others. Disinfectant wipes and sanitizer will be available at the event. A COVID-19 health liability release waiver should be filled out prior to the egg hunt.

All money raised from the Easter egg hunt will go towards NSD's Certified Service Dog programs. The dogs in the program are trained to assist families who have children with autism and also for therapeutic purposes like help with PTSD and companionship.
