NEWS RELEASE
GUELPH HUMANE SOCIETY
**************************
Donations made to the Guelph Humane Society will be doubled until midnight Dec. 3, which is known as Giving Tuesday.
“If you've ever considered donating to help vulnerable animals in Guelph and Wellington County, now is a great time to make a difference by doubling your impact,” says Lisa Veit, GHS Executive Director. “Each day animals arrive at GHS desperate for care, food, shelter, and a little love and kindness. It’s only through the generosity of our community that we can provide a safe place for those who have nowhere else to turn. Your support can be the difference between despair and a second chance at life.”
Gifts to GHS go a long way to helping provide care for animals like Rooster, a five-month-old stray puppy who arrived at the shelter in need of urgent veterinary care after being abandoned alongside the highway. Rooster is currently one of 160 animals in receiving care this holiday season.
Donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar from generous supporters, Helmutz Landscape & Interlock and the GHS Board of Directors up to a total of $20,000.
“With delays in donations made via traditional mail our team is working hard to make it easy for our community to support animals in need this holiday season,” says Lisa. “We encourage those interested in donating to visit guelphhumane.ca, email our team for help at [email protected] or by calling 519-824-3091 x 6 to avoid delays over the coming month. Every dollar makes a life changing difference for animals in need.”
