'Doors Open' for artists, historians to connect with the community

Guelph Museums invites artists, historians, and creative groups to submit proposals to participate in the third annual history at night party, Guelph 192: Doors Open After Dark.

Doors Open After Dark and Doors Open Guelph will celebrate Guelph’s 192nd birthday, and commemorate the 240th birthday of Guelph founder John Galt, with history and art activations at and around the Civic Museum from 9 p.m. April 26 to 1 a.m. April 27 and at Doors Open sites in Guelph from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 27.

This free event is aimed at creating opportunities to connect, explore and engage the community with history in unique ways. Doors Open Guelph is a day-long celebration of Guelph's finest buildings, creative spaces, and artistically or architecturally relevant sites, organized by Guelph Arts Council with support from the City of Guelph and a steering committee.

Submissions for Doors Open After Dark and Doors Open Guelph are encouraged to explore Guelph’s history and identity through themes of reconciliation, immigration, landscape, culture, and innovation.

The deadline for applications is Feb. 10, 2019.
