Downtown Guelph heats up with first noon hour concert of the summer (7 photos)

Sunny skies, food trucks, kids off school and Kenny Phelps' music made for a great start to the noon hour concerts in St. George's Square

Hundreds flocked to downtown Guelph Friday for the first of eight RBC Noon Hour Concert Series events of the summer.

Kenny Phelps supplied the tunes and five food trucks and an ice cream stand made an appearance to help fill the food and drink demand under clear and sunny skies.

The crowd was bolstered by lots of children, given that it was a professional development day for area schools.

The food trucks will be a regular feature of the Friday concerts in St. George's Square. The rest of the summer there are two spots at the top of Wyndham Street and two on Surrey Street just south of downtown that they can rent.

Next week's entertainment will be drumming and dancing from the Sikh Youth Seva Organization. The concert starts at noon and runs for an hour.
