Driver air-lifted after serious collision

A female passenger and three-year-old child were also sent to hospital with minor injuries

TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON — Today at approximately 5:10 pm, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Centre Wellington Fire & Rescue responded to a two vehicle collision involving a pickup truck and minivan on Sideroad 15 and Second Line, West Garafraxa.

The pickup truck was southbound on Second Line and the van was eastbound on Sideroad 15 when the collision occurred.

The male driver of the van was transported by air ambulance to Hamilton with serious injuries. He is in stable condition.

A female passenger and three-year-old child in the van were transported by Guelph-Wellington EMS to a local hospital with minor injuries. 

The driver of the pick-up truck was not injured.

Sideroad 15 was closed at the intersection of Second Line but has now re-opened. The investigation is continuing.
