Driver charged in head-on collision

PUSLINCH TOWNSHIP – On Sept. 12, 2016 at approximately 9:45 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded along with Guelph Fire and Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to a head-on collision involving two motor vehicles on the Hanlon Expressway near Laird Road in the City of Guelph. 

Investigation revealed that a 2012 GMC Cube Van that was travelling northbound lost control and entered the grass centre median before it crossed over into the southbound lanes where it collided with a 2014 Honda Civic head-on.

The 48-year-old driver of the Honda suffered non-life threatening injuries and was brought to a local hospital. 

39-year-old Ngongo Kibonge of Brampton was driving the GMC Cube Van and he has been charged with careless driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
