Driver enters RIDE program, charged with impaired

PUSLINCH TOWNSHIP – On Oct. 19, 2016 at approximately 9:40 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) Officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. program at Townline Road and Roszell Road, Puslinch Township. 

A man driving a 2009 Dodge entered the R.I.D.E. program and police believed he had consumed alcohol. A roadside screening test was performed which resulted in a fail. 

He was arrested and brought to an OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

35-year-old Wray Dyck of Guelph has been charged with Over 80 Mgs contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Dec. 6, 2016.  

His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.
