Driver charged after leaving the scene of a collision

TOWN OF ERIN - On March 9, 2016 at approximately 6:15 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint about a possible impaired driver that left the scene of a collision and was not driving in a safe manner on Wellington Road 24 in Ballinafad, Town of Erin. 

The male driver continued on Wellington Road 24 and stopped his 2005 Honda at Wellington Road 124 and Trafalgar Road where he ran in to the bush. 

Soon after Police located the man and he was arrested. 

Officers believed that he was also impaired by alcohol and during the arrest he was not cooperative.

His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.

28-year-old Ryan Doran of Burlington has been charged with:
    •    Impaired Driving-Criminal Code (.C.C.)
    •    Over 80-C.C.
    •    Fail to Remain at the Scene of an Accident-C.C.
    •    Dangerous Driving-C.C.
    •    Resist Peace Officer-C.C.
    •    Drive with an Open Container of Liquor-Liquor Licence Act

He is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on April 19, 2016.
