9:10 p.m. update

TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, Ont. - On Thursday Nov. 9, 2017 at approximately 6:30 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious collision involving two motor vehicles on the Wellington Road 109, East of Arthur. Initial reports indicated that a Ford pickup and a Honda sedan had collided head on.

UPDATE; A 21-year-old female from Mount Forest was pronounced dead at local hospital. OPP are withholding names until the next of kin are notified.

The investigation is ongoing and Wellington Road 109 from Highway 6 to Wellington Road 16 will remain closed until further notice.

The Wellington County OPP is asking anyone that may have witnessed this collision to please call 1-888-310-1122.

TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, Ont. - On Thursday Nov. 9, 2017 at approximately 6:30 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious collision involving two motor vehicles on the Wellington Road 109, East of Arthur. Initial reports indicated that a Ford pickup and a Honda sedan had collided head on.

OPP, Wellington North Fire Service and Guelph-Wellington Paramedics Services attended. A 21-year-old female sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to local hospital. A 57-year-old male sustained minor injuries and was treated at scene. There were no other passengers involved.

The investigation is ongoing and Wellington Road 109 from Highway 6 to Wellington Road 16 will remain closed while OPP Technical Collision Investigators are on scene. Weather may have been a factor.
