Early morning drive leads to impaired charge

GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP – On Nov. 20, 2016 at approximately 3:30 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a possible impaired driver on Wellington Road 30 near Wellington Road 39 in Guelph-Eramosa Township.

Officers located the vehicle, a 2011 Dodge Challenger and while speaking with the female driver an odour of alcohol was detected on her breath. 

A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. She was arrested and taken to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

34-year-old Kristyn Robinson of Kitchener has been charged with Over 80 Mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Jan. 6, 2017 to answer to the charge.

Her driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.
