The Elora Singers announce the second concert of their 2019/2020 Winter Season: Singers Messiah. Handel’s moving masterpiece performed in a unique way, with Elora Singers as soloists. Join us on Sunday Dec. 8, 2019, at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be performed at St. Joseph’s Church in Fergus.

"As a professional singer, I have performed the Messiah umpteen times as both a soloist and a chorister and enjoy it every time," said choir member and manager, Christina Stelmacovich. "Still, my fondest and indeed most moving performances have been with The Elora Singers. In the true Baroque tradition, Artistic Director Mark Vuorinen has all choruses and solo arias shared among members of the Singers. The fact that Mark can share parts among choir members, only affirms that this choir has some of the best voices this country has to offer. Stepping out as accomplished soloists and then melting back into the chorus without compromising the choir's exquisite blend makes this performance unique and unlike any other!

Mark and the Singers always provide a powerful yet intimate performance that you will not soon forget!

Initially written for the Easter season, Handel's Messiah has become a staple of the Christmas season. Even during a season full of spectacle, endless Christmas muzak, and a bombardment of advertising, Handel's Messiah stands among the giants of the season. A status reflected by the sheer number of Messiah performances in the GTA and surrounding areas.
