EMPLOYMENT COORDINATION COMMITTEE OF GUELPH WELLINGTON

The Employment Coordination Committee of Guelph Wellington (ECC) was pleased to host the 29th Annual Employer Recognition and Awards Event on Friday, June 7, 2019.

This event celebrated the outstanding employers who have provided training and employment opportunities to individuals who have either faced employment difficulties or required workplace experience. The theme for this event, “A Winning Combination,” illustrates the cooperation and teamwork necessary on behalf of employers, community agencies and community individuals in order to ensure the success of their mutual goals.

The following employers were recognized at this year’s event: Giant Tiger, Newdon Industries, Camp Fincayra, Alliance Roofing, Linamar, Fergus Walmart, Liberty Tax, Right at Home Canada, City of Guelph, Canadian Tire - Stone Road, Caroline Léveillé Tim Hortons, DMB Style, Palmerston Home Hardware, Bulk Barn - Woodlawn Location, Milestones Guelph, Fresh Co - Fergus, Goodwill.

This year, the Employment Coordination Committee of Guelph Wellington was pleased to have Julie Porter, a Peer Outreach Worker with the Welcoming Streets Initiative of Downtown Guelph as our keynote speaker.

Bringing greetings from the City of Guelph was Mayor of Guelph Cam Guthrie; Guelph Chamber of Commerce CEO and Interim President, Amy Kendall; County of Wellington, Tom Lusis of the County Economic Development; Lloyd Longfield Guelph member of Parliament, Mike Schreiner member of Provincial Parliament all brought their greetings.

Paul Osborne, Director of Marketing and Recreation Centre for Conestoga College, again hosted this year’s event as Master of Ceremonies.
