Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Guelph - Erin - Southern Wellington County
  • Kitchener - Cambridge - Region of Waterloo
  • Mount Forest - Arthur - Northern Wellington County

Strong winds expected Thursday.

Hazards:
Strong winds gusting up to 70 km/h.

Timing:
Thursday.

Discussion:
Strong westerly winds gusting up to 70 km/h are expected early Thursday morning as a cold front moves through the region. Although the strong wind gusts may ease slightly in the early afternoon, winds are expected to shift to the southwest in the late afternoon with gusts up to 70 km/h possible. Winds are expected to ease slowly through Thursday evening.

Strong winds combined with saturated ground conditions may make it easier for damage to trees to occur.
