Expect traffic issues on Woodlawn Road West for quite a while

Construction project is expected to take until June to complete
map
Traffic issues will be happening for the next few months as the north end of the Hanlon Parkway is closed.

The north end of the Hanlon Expressway will be closed for the foreseeable future for work that coincides with the city's construction of the multi-use path on the adjacent segment of Woodlawn Road.

Construction will include the replacement of the underground sanitary sewer, storm sewer and water main pipes from Regal Road to Silvercreek Parkway.

Construction was scheduled to start Oct. 9.

The Hanlon will be closed in both directions from Speedvale Avenue to Woodlawn Road. Traffic will detour via Speedvale Avenue, Silvercreek Parkway and Woodlawn Road.

Woodlawn Road will be down to one lane in each direction between Silvercreek Parkway and Regal Road.

The multi-use path will be three metres wide for use by pedestrians, cyclists and other users to get around. The multi-use path is funded by the Ontario Municipal Commuter Cycling Program to build safer, more connected cycling routes for Ontarians and to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions from transportation.

Construction will include the replacement of the underground sanitary sewer, storm sewer and water main pipes from Regal Road to Silvercreek Parkway.

The project is expected to take until June to complete.
