The books are closed on the $15.2 million renovations to the Victoria Road Recreation Centre and the project came in $107,000 over budget.

That's roughly 0.7 per cent, says a city update on its Tier 1 capital projects status update.

The reason for the budget overrun was "added accessibility and energy improvements."

The rec centre reopened in the summer of 2017.

The city's other major capital projects, the new Guelph Police headquarters and the Wilson Street Parkade, are both on budget, although the police headquarters renovations are running several months behind schedule.

The police headquarters is expected to be completed by the end of 2019 at a cost of $34.1 million and the Wilson Street parkade and associated work is expected to be completed in September at a cost of $24.9 million.

The city's other Tier 1 projects are all in the formative stages: a south end community centre, the Baker Street redvelopment and a transportaion master plan.
