Fire extinguished at Linamar Gear on Independence Place

Fire, confined to oil quench press, quickly brought under control, says Platoon Chief Al Farquharson

On April 22, 2018, the Guelph Fire Department responded to a reported fire at 32 Independence Place, Linamar Gear.

Arriving at the scene, firefighters found smoke coming from roof stacks. The first in crew found the fire was contained to an oil quench press.  

The fire was quickly brought under control using extinguishers and then extinguished completely with firefighting foam. 

There were no injuries to firefighters or employees.

The cause of the fire and damage estimate  will be investigated by Guelph Fire investigators.
