Four charged following break and enter

TOWN OF ERIN – On February 18, 2016 at approximately 12:08 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call for a break and enter in progress at a Health Canada-authorized medical marijuana producer on Side Road 17, Town of Erin.

Four males have been charged. One young person cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Wellington County OPP wishes to acknowledge and thank those citizens who provided valuable information that assisted with the quick apprehension of the male suspects.

23-year-old Michael Medeiros, 19-year-old Peter Rego, 26-year-old Shayne Morasse and a 16-year-old all from Brampton are charged with;

  • Break and Enter a Dwelling House-Criminal Code (C.C.)
  • Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence-C.C.
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose-C.C.
  • Possession of a Loaded Restricted Firearm-C.C.
  • Possession of a Firearm Obtained by Crime-C.C.
  • Disguise with Intent-C.C.

Medeiros, Rego and the young male are also charged with Fail to Comply with Recognizance-C.C.

Morasse is also charged with Possession of a Firearm contrary to a Prohibition Order-C.C.

They all appeared in Guelph Bail Court on February 19, 2016.
