Who wouldn't be interested in learning how to make carrot apple pancakes, spinach and tomato huevos rancheros and bean, sweet potato and garlic stew?
Those are just a few of the recipes in a free cookbooklet created through a University of Guelph study.
Family-Friendly Recipes is a 43-page free downloadable booklet of seasonal recipes produced through the U of G's Guelph Family Health Study.
That study is working with a number of families to test ways for children to learn long-term healthy eating habits that could significantly lower the risk of disease now and in the future.
The booklet features 19 healthy recipes.
It was funded through a crowd-funding campaign and in partnership with the www.halfyourplate.ca initiative, a collective that promotes healthy eating through more fruits and vegetables.
"Keeping busy families in mind, these recipes are quick and tasty , and aim to help families increase their fruit and vegetable intake using principles from Half Your Plate," says a U of G news release.
