Freezing rain is expected or occurring.

Freezing rain has been reported in many areas and will continue for a few more hours before changing to freezing drizzle or flurries by this afternoon.

Several millimetres of ice accretion are possible over these regions with some areas possibly receiving a few centimetres of ice pellets mixed with snow in addition to the freezing rain.

Strong wind gusts up to 70 km/h coupled with ice accretion on tree branches and power lines could cause power outages.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance. Ice build-up may cause tree branches to break.
