NEWS RELEASE
GUELPH PUBLIC LIBRARY
*************************
Did you know your Guelph Public Library card is your passport to adventure? Step outside the ordinary to seek answers at your nearest library location and join our summer reading club this summer! Together, we’ll trek through the wilderness as we explore the wonderful world around us.

Starting on Friday, June 7, 2019, children from birth to 12-years-old are encouraged to 'Explore Guelph: Celebrate our Natural World' by visiting any Guelph Public Library location to register for this year’s TD Summer Reading Club! You will receive a free reading package which includes a booklet with stickers, a necklace, a limited edition button and of course, a reading log card to get you started! Track your reading throughout the summer, collect beads, buttons from every location and participate in one of our many special reading club programs.

In addition to the reading club registration being available at all locations, join us for these special kickoff events at the Main Library on Friday, June 7, 2019:

Storytime Extravaganza at 10:30 a.m.
Comic Juggler: Craig Douglas at 2:30 p.m.

Summer reading isn’t just for kids! Enjoy our newly re-designed teen programs too for 13 to 18-year-olds. Are you ready to rock out at your library this summer? Participate in our Teen Reads “Libraries Rock” Summer Challenge starting on Friday, June 7 until Aug. 24, 2019. This summer, learn how much fun libraries can be with open musical jam sessions, drumming and improv workshops, teen tech time, and so much more.

We also have a new and exciting program for adults, 19 years and older - an Adult Summer Reading BINGO challenge! Drop by any library location to pick up your bingo card starting on Friday, June 7 and start reading to win amazing prizes. Complete a line for a chance to win! Submit your completed Bingo card (or if you’re a super eager reader – cards) to any library location by Saturday, Aug. 24, 2019.

Whether you are a long-time participant or new to our summer reading programs, you will find great resources here at your library to help you create the best summer reading experience ever! Get Your Summer Read On!
