The Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington’s is excited to announce that the 14th Annual Around the World Gala, presented by Bird Elinesky Schuett Private Wealth Management of RBC Dominion Securities, raised more than $128,000 to support their four core programs.

On Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019 the Around the World Gala traveled to Monaco with an elaborate black tie affair! With martinis (shaken, not stirred) and champagne, elegant décor by Volumes of Space, the smooth sounds of the Sam Fitzpatrick Quartet, and an after-party casino, the night played out like a scene from a James Bond film. Through raffles, games, auctions items and an impactful Fund-A-Future, guests raised over $80,000 on the night, with a total of over $128,000 raised for the event.

Sponsors like Bird Elinesky Schuett Private Wealth Management of RBC Dominion Securities also play an integral part in the success of the Gala, leading the way as the presenting sponsor. The foundation also acknowledges the Monte Guelph Casino Sponsors, Ceramic Decor and Contract Express Ltd.; Grand Prize Raffle Sponsor, The Co-operators, Darren Scott, Advisor; Raffle Sponsors, Caissa and Guelph Manufacturing Group; OO7 Sponsors, Alliance Roofing, EB Games, KPMG, SV Law and Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel.

“It is a privilege and honour to have these amazing corporate community partners continue to support the Children’s Foundation events and programs,” says Karyn Kirkwood, Interim Executive Director. “Their support, along with all the guests in attendance, means we can continue to provide valuable opportunities for children and youth to participate, learn and grow.”

The Children’s Foundation programs ~ Adopt-A-Family, Food & Friends, Free to Grow and Scholarships ~ helps approximately 23,000 children and youth in Dufferin, Wellington County and Guelph each year. From filling their bellies with healthy food so they can focus on learning in school, to acquiring new skills like driver’s training, to inspiring hope during the holidays, to launching their post-secondary studies through scholarships, the community’s support is turning their dreams into reality.

As more and more families turn to the Children’s Foundation for support, the crucial importance of fundraising also increases. The community can continue to support children and youth through the foundation’s upcoming Adopt-A-Family holiday program and through their year-end “Double Double” giving campaign.
