The Royal City received possibly its first-ever mention on America's longest-running quiz show on Friday.
On Friday's broadcast of Jeopardy!, contestants were given the following clue in the category of Canadiana:
'Hog cholera prompted the founding of North America's oldest one of these colleges, at the University of Guelph in Ontario.'
Contestant McKenzie Miller from Ohio responded with the question "What is veterinary medicine?"
The correct response banked $800 for Miller.
Andy Saunders in Guelph runs a Twitter account called The Jeopardy! Fan. He tweeted on Friday that this may be the first time Guelph or U of G has been mentioned on the long-running quiz show.
