GUELPH GIVES

The annual Guelph Gives Community Breakfast returns this year on Tuesday, Dec. 3, with a discussion about the importance of food security in our community. With community leaders Indu Arora, Court Desautels, and Carolyn McLeod-McCarthy, we will explore the topic of food security in our community, and how different organizations and sectors are doing their part to support those in need.
“The annual Guelph Gives event aims to educate the community and bring together community leaders to discuss topics of high importance each year,” says Amanda Kavchak, chair of Guelph Gives. “Food security is one of the most important issues that our community is facing this year, and we’re thrilled to bring together an amazing group of speakers to discuss how organizations locally are working together to tackle this issue.”
Tickets for the event can be purchased through the Guelph Gives website (guelphgives.ca) for $15 each. The event will take place at La Reina from 8:30-9:30am on Giving Tuesday, which is December 3rd this year.
Outside of the annual event, Guelph Gives is also hosting a food drive, encouraging the community to help support those in need this holiday season. You can participate by donating some of the highest needed items for local organizations: peanut butter, pasta and pasta sauce, canned meat, oatmeal (single serving), or fruit cups. Donations can be brought to the Guelph Gives event on December 3rd, or dropped off between November 28th to December 11th at one of the following locations:
- La Reina, 10 Wyndham St N (Open Sun-Mon 11:30 a.m. - 8 p.m., Tues-Thurs 11:30 a.m. - 10 p.m., Fri-Sat 11:30 a.m. - 1 a.m.)
- Royal LePage Royal City Realty, 30 Edinburgh Rd N (Open Mon-Fri 9 a.m. - 8 p.m., Sat-Sun 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.)
