Guelph Internet cops help crack child porn/extortion case in London

A warrant was executed in London on Wednesday and a 17-year-old was arrested

Internet Child Exploitation Unit Executes a Warrant

On March 2, 2016 members of the Guelph Police Internet Child Exploitation Unit, with the assistance of the London Police Internet Child Exploitation and Technological Crimes Units executed a search warrant at a home in the City of London, where the accused resided. 

The investigation was a result of a complaint received of child abuse images being displayed online. 

During the search of the home, computer systems, external storage devices and other articles were seized from the home.

A 17-year-old male London resident was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of Child Pornography

  • Making Child Pornography Available for Distribution

  • Extortion

  • Breaching a youth Probation Order
