Guelph man identified as one of victims of fatal crash on Highway 401

PORT HOPE - A Guelph man has been identified as one of two victims of a fiery crash Aug. 3 near Port Hope.

Northumberland OPP said Michael Glazier, 35, of Guelph, and his cousin Todd Gardiner, 26, of Newmarket, were killed around 10 p.m. when the pickup truck they were travelling in on Highway 401 between Port Hope and Cobourg collided with a tractor trailer.

Two other drivers in the collision were also taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Glazier was originally from Oshawa but was living and working in Guelph. He was engaged to be married next summer.

A funeral service for the two men is scheduled for Whitby on Aug. 11 at 3 p.m. at Westminster United Church at 1850 Rossland Rd. E. in Whitby. Visitation starts at noon.
