Guelph police locate man who yelled racial insults at woman walking her dog

Police say they cautioned a 21-year-old man that if it happens again he could face criminal harassment charges

Guelph police say they have cautioned a man who yelled racial slurs at a woman walking her dog.

Last Sunday Aaliyah S. was walking her dog on Goodwin Drive in south Guelph when a man started yelling racial insults at her and blaming Asian people for COVID-19.

Aaliyah S. reported the incident to police.

On Wednesday police say they located the man and cautioned him for criminal harassment.

Acting on information from the public, police were able to identify the male and spoke to him on Tuesday evening.

A 21-year-old Guelph male was warned about his behaviour and cautioned he could face criminal harassment charges.
