The annual Guelph Resilience Festival and eMERGE EcoMarket happen this weekend in Guelph.
Brought to you by Transition Guelph, the Guelph Resilience Festival promotes, informs, educates and enlightens on all things related to energy savings and healthy living.
A full listing of events and times can be found at the festival’s website.
Three days of activities range from ukulele and canning workshops to laughter yoga and maple syrup collecting.
Guelph Resilience Festival events actually get underway on Thursday with an ecotherapy workshop. Ecotherapy: Healing Our Relationship with Earth takes place at John McCrae school starting at 6 p.m. and is described as “intended for those who are looking to further deepen a sense of connection with nature and to step into new meaning for ways of relating with our earth.”
David Mayberry, Mayor of South West Oxford Township, will share how his community is working toward 100 per cent renewable energy Thursday at 7 p.m. at 10C, 42 Carden St.
Saturday’s schedule is highlighted by the very popular Seedy Saturday event, from 10-4 at Dublin United Church, where vendors or all things growing, as well as a free Seed Exchange, will take place.
The Earth Hour Pot Luck Supper, which is how the festival got started, takes place Saturday at Dublin Street United Church, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Saturday will also feature the eMERGE EcoMarket in Old Quebec Street Shoppes from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., where healthy living and energy saving vendors and organizations will fill the building with products and information.
A variety of electric cars will also be on display in St. George’s Square.
