A candlelight vigil is planned to remember and honour the victims of the Orlando tragedy.

It will be held in Market Square, in front of City Hall, on Thursday evening from 8 p.m. to approximately 9 p.m.

Mayor Cam Guthrie made the announcement at a planning meeting of Guelph City Council Monday night. He said several community organizations will be involved, including Out of the Shelf. The Rainbow Chorus will perform.

The city currently has its flag at half staff in recognition of Sunday's massacre.
