WOOLWICH TOWNSHIP - A 19-year-old Guelph woman had to be extricated from her vehicle before being airlifted to hospital in Hamilton Monday afternoon following a single vehicle crash just outside Waterloo.

Waterloo Regional Police said the woman's SUV was travelling northbound on Ebycrest Road just north of Victoria Road when it left the road and hit a hydro pole.

Emergency crews had to remove the woman from the vehicle before an ORNGE air ambulance rushed her to Hamilton.

The road was closed for several hours while police investigated. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
