GuelphGives is returning to an in-person event this year, with Equity, Diversity and Inclusion as the main point of focus.

On Tuesday, Nov. 30 GuelphGives invites you to join them in a conversation about EDI with featured speakers Iona Sky and Danai Mushayandebvu. Facilitated by GuelphGives Chair, Emma Rogers, alongside Fund Development professional Travis Forbes, the conversation will be geared at educating the community about equity, diversity and inclusion.

“The last 20 months have been eye opening for many, with so many crucial conversations happening around our marginalized communities,” says Emma Rogers, chair of GuelphGives and CEO of the Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington. “We want to use this conversation as an opportunity to bring the community together and learn more about equity, diversity and inclusion. We’ve invited two very strong advocates to guide us through these topics.”

GuelphGives will still continue to share the impact of local organizations and businesses through their social channels, not only on Giving Tuesday but year round. Their focus is continuing to shine a spotlight on Guelph, and building a stronger community.

Tickets for the event can be purchased through the GuelphGives website for $15 each. The event will take place at La Reina from 9 a.m. - 10 a.m. on Giving Tuesday, which is Nov. 30 this year. There is a limited capacity for this event, so don’t miss out!

Not able to make the breakfast, but still want to take part in Giving Tuesday? There are many ways you can celebrate Giving Tuesday:

  • Consider donating to causes in Guelph doing important work to address many of our local issues
  • Visit or purchase a gift card for a local business
  • Volunteer at an organization you value and want to help
  • Help educate yourself and spread awareness of Guelph’s local issues and think about how you can get involved
