Guelph singer/songwriter and councillor James Gordon has been commissioned to compose original music for a collaborative effort celebrating Canada's 150th birthday.

The music is for a Nov. 4 event at the River Run Centre that will see the University of Guelph choirs join forces with three community choirs.

A posting on the University of Guelph web site says the choirs will "perform both individually and together as a massed choir of 240 singers, performing Canadian songs to celebrate our province and great country."

Time and ticket details are not yet available.
