GuelphToday poll shows most had positive voting experience in federal election

But many had issues, including 25 per cent of respondents who said the wait was a little too long or it was more difficult than it should have been

A GuelphToday poll asking how people's voting experience was in Guelph for the last federal election shows the majority (61.6 per cent) found it to be 'smooth sailing.'

But many had issues, including long waits. Of the 1,970 people who responded to the poll over six days, 5.3 per cent (94 respondents) said they left because the lineup to vote was too long. 

GuelphToday.com polled 1,970 GuelphToday.com readers and asked the question: How was your voting experience in Guelph on election day?

The poll ran from 9/24/2021 to 9/29/2021. Of the 1970 votes, we can determine that 970 are from within the community. The full results are as follows:

Smooth sailing 61.55 % local, 60.96 % total    
Wait was a little long 16.70 % local, 16.80 % total    
More difficult than it should have been 8.56 % local, 9.34 % total    
I left because the wait was too long 5.26 % local, 4.77 % total    
I never voted 7.84 % local, 8.12 % total
