Guelph Symphony Orchestra will kick off its 2019-20 season with a program that highlights the power and beauty of full orchestra.

Under the direction of Guest Conductor, Adam Johnson, (Assistant Conductor of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra), GSO will perform Sibelius’s stirring Finlandia, (with the Grand River Voices, under the direction of GSO's percussionist, Amy Di Nino, Walton’s masterful Viola Concerto, (played by Samuel Choi) and Dvorak’s magnificent “New World” Symphony.

We are absolutely delighted, that during his time in Guelph, Adam Johnson, will be spending a day at GCVI high school, working with their Senior Concert Band and String Ensemble and making classroom visits to Sacred Heart Elementary School. GSO is dedicated to engaging youth in their pursuit and love of music and, and Adam shares our passion for music education!

There will be a ticketed Sip 'n Sparkle Cocktail party right before the concert and the glitzy theme will continue throughout the evening with the singers and musicians wearing something sparkly on stage!

We have called our 2019-20 concert series “A Season of Celebration” to honour excellence in our thriving arts community!
