HOSPICE WELLINGTON

Every year, in conjunction with our Handbags for Hospice event, Hospice Wellington extends an appeal to the community to come together and help support an important effort or service for our organization. Please review the following and consider helping make a difference in supporting our new Stepping Forward Fund.
People are truly so wonderful at a time of loss. Family and friends show up with food (so much food) and offers of help. What happens when those kind folks must return to their own busy lives and commitments? How do any of us cope with our own devastating loss?
One option is the grief programs of Hospice Wellington. Open to anyone in Wellington County who has experienced a loss, these programs offer safe spaces to face our own grief and begin those next tough steps, with others in the same situations. All services are provided without cost to the individual.
Just as people are different, there are a variety of programs offered. Some people might deeply appreciate the chance to speak with one other person, while others may prefer a group setting. Some people may value a walking group where movement gets people together, along with conversation. Art or music therapies can reach the parts of us that may not yet have words. Reiki and Therapeutic Touch offer comfort with silent care.
Because these programs are so pivotal to hundreds of people annually, this year our Handbags for Hospice Fund-A-Need is dedicated to the Stepping Forward Fund to support programs of grief. Your support for this fund reminds people that when they take those first steps after a death, this community walks beside them.
