Heat Warning in effect for:
  • Guelph - Erin - Southern Wellington County
  • Kitchener - Cambridge - Region of Waterloo

Hot and humid conditions Monday through Tuesday.

Maximum daytime temperatures from 31 to 34 degrees Celsius are expected with humidex values near 40. Overnight low temperatures are forecast to fall to only 21 to 23 degrees, providing little relief from the heat.

A cold front is expected to bring showers and thunderstorms Tuesday evening bringing an end to the heat and humidity.

Hot and humid air can also bring deteriorating air quality and can cause the Air Quality Health Index to approach the high risk category.

Extreme heat affects everyone.

The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.

Watch for the effects of heat illness: swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions.

Reduce your heat risk. Schedule outdoor activities during the coolest parts of the day.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
