NEWS RELEASE
GRAND RIVER CONSERVATION AUTHORITY
*******************
Another pair of low pressure systems are expected to sweep across southern Ontario overnight Thursday and through the day on Friday bringing 30-50mm of rainfall to much of the Grand River watershed.

Ground conditions in the watershed are generally saturated, increasing the rate at which this rainfall will affect local waterways. While no significant flooding is anticipated with this event, higher flows on rivers and streams will increase the risk of flooding in low-lying areas typically prone to spring flooding. River flows will remain higher than normal in the coming week, elevating the safety risk around rivers and streams throughout the watershed.

The low-level bridge on Three Bridges Road in St. Jacobs is expected to close Friday due to the increased river flows anticipated with this event.

The public is encouraged to exercise extreme caution around all local waterways. Banks adjacent to rivers and creeks are very slippery and, when combined with cold, fast-moving water, pose a serious hazard. Parents are encouraged to keep their children and pets away from all watercourses.

This message will remain in effect until Monday, April 22, 2019. Updated flood messages will be issued if necessary as conditions change.
